Founded by the esteemed Tsveta Chrystoforou, our organisation has become a cornerstone of artistic excellence, bringing the power and beauty of opera to audiences far and wide.

Our Foundation’s Journey

The Cyprus Opera Organisation was founded by Tsveta Chrystoforou, a visionary with deep roots in the world of classical music and opera. Born in Varna, Bulgaria, Tsveta’s passion for music was evident from an early age. After graduating with honors in solo lyric singing and piano, she furthered her education with a Master’s in Music as a Mezzo Soprano Music Theater – Soloist, and later, a second Master’s in music theater stage directing.

Tsveta’s career is marked by significant achievements and contributions to the opera world, both in Cyprus and internationally. Her dedication to the arts led her to establish the first children’s musical theater in Cyprus, “Melpomeni,” laying the groundwork for what would eventually become the Cyprus Opera Organisation. Under her leadership, the organisation has hosted numerous performances, including notable operas such as “Dido and Aeneas,” “The Marriage of Figaro,” and “Don Giovanni,” showcasing her talent not only as a director but also as a performer.
